Terms & condition

Abide Bhutan Adventure is a licensed travel agent and a registered and accredited member of the Tourism Council of Bhutan.

The Company offers travel-related services and accommodations, including the following:

The Travel Agent will offer the listed services and accommodations to business and consumer clients as part of travel packages pursuant to the terms of this travel agency agreement.

  1. The Company will provide travel, accommodation, restaurants, and other services.
  2. The Company is not responsible if you or any member of your party suffer death, illness or injury as a result of any failure to perform or improper performance of any part of our contract with you where such failure is attributable to (i) the acts and/or omissions of any member of the party, or (ii) those of a third party not connected with the provision of your holiday, or (iii) an event which neither the Company or the service provider could have foreseen or prevented even with due care.
  3. Should any member of your party suffer an illness, injury or death through misadventure arising out of an activity, which does not form part of the holiday the Company, has arranged for you the Company cannot accept liability.
  4. The Company regrets that no refund will be made on unused tickets where travel, sporting event or other types of tickets unless a refund can be obtained from the carrier or provider.
  5. The Company will offer items listed in this agreement to businesses and consumers as part of travel packages.
  6. The Company agrees to offer such items at prices approved by the Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) without exception.
  7. The Company shall provide the TCB with full contact information for each client purchasing the Company’s services or accommodations.
  8. The Company shall abide by GNH.
  9. The Company shall protect the cultural heritage of Bhutan.
  10. The Company will offer general assistance where appropriate.
  1. You are responsible for arranging your own travel (Covid19) insurance.
  2. Each member of the party must have a valid passport, visas and all necessary documentation for the countries they are touring. The Company accepts no responsibility for any delay or expense should your documents not be in order.
  3. You are responsible for checking-in for flights at the correct time and for presenting yourself to take up all pre-booked components of your holiday. The Company cannot accept responsibility for clients missing flights as a result of late check-ins and no credit or refunds will be given if you fail to take up any component of your holiday. No credit or refunds will be given for lost, mislaid or destroyed travel documents.
  4. By booking a holiday with the Company you undertake to behave in an orderly manner and not to disrupt the enjoyment of others on holiday with you nor to do anything to bring the reputation of the Company into disrepute. If you breach this clause your holiday will be terminated with immediate effect and the Company will have no further contractual obligation to you. The Company will be entitled to recover from the offending party and/or the person who signed the booking form compensation for any damage caused.
  5. It is the responsibility of the person who signs the Booking Form to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions that members of their party may have.
  6. All equipment and personal effects shall be all times and in all circumstances at the owner’s risk. The Company cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage or delay to your luggage or effects unless directly caused by the negligence of one of our representatives.

International Tourist;

In the event, the Company becomes aware of a breach of any of this agreement’s provisions it will have the right to terminate this travel agency agreement in its entirety.

For all the services contracted, payment should be made full to hold the booking, on a confirmed basis for the visa approval from the TCB.

 

Regional Tourist; (Bangladesh, India, Maldives)

In the event, the Company becomes aware of a breach of any of this agreement’s provisions it will have the right to terminate this travel agency agreement in its entirety.

For all the services contracted, certain advance payment should be made to hold the booking; on a confirmed basis, for the visa approval from the TCB. & the balance amount can be paid either before your departure from your country or upon arrival in BHUTAN but definitely before the commencement of the services. Management personnel’s hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as advance payment, based on the nature of the service & the time left for the commencement of the service.

Apart from above in some cases like Special seasons; hotels or resorts, car bookings during the peak season (March, April, May, September, October, November), full payment is required to be sent in advance.

For Flights, and Train Tickets full payment is required to be sent in advance.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGIONAL TOURIST VISITING BHUTAN (By TCB)
The two important requirements among others are:

  • Regional tourist shall plan their tour in consultation with the licensed Bhutanese tour operator; and
  • Document required for processing e-permit is passport with validity of six months. The

tourist must carry the same passport that was used for applying e-permit.

 

TOUR COST AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FEE (SDF)

While, there is no Minimum Daily Package Rate (MDPR) prescribed by the Royal Government for regional tourist, SDF levied for regional tourist will be concessional amount of Nu.1200 per person per night halt. The total cost of tour should be discussed with the tour company after considering the agreed minimum services. Tourist visiting Bhutan shall pre-arrange and pay a tour package including SDF in advance in order to process for an e-permit by the tour operator. (As provided in the Tourist levy act and Guideline for the Management of Regional Tourist). TCB will neither entertain any assistance sought by Bhutanese tour operator in recovery of the credit payment from tourist nor entertain complaint by tourist against service provider on failure to provide services agreed if no payment has been made in advance.

 

APPLICATION OF SDF

According to the Tourism Levy Act, SDF will be applied to all regional tourists, including children, and will be calculated depending on the number of nights spent. SDF, on the other hand, will be charged on day visitors who travel beyond the first interior checkpoint of
the border towns defined or updated by the Royal Government, which may be as follows:

  • Rinchending in Phuentsholing;
  • Pinchina in Samdrup Jongkhar; and
  • AWP Gate on the Gelephu-Tsirang highway and Shershong Zam/ Tashiling constituency on the Gelephu-Zhemgang highway in Gelephu.

Cancellation charges per person.

  1. No charge if cancelled within 45 days of the start of the tour program.
  2. Charge 25% of the tour payment if cancelled within 30 days of the start of the tour program.
  3. Charge 35% of the tour payment if cancelled within 21 days of the start of the tour program.
  4. Charge 50% of the tour payment if cancelled within 14 days of the start of the tour program.
  5. Charge 100% of the tour payment charge if cancelled within 7 days or after the arrival tourist in Bhutan.

 

Please Note: 

  1. In the case of natural mishap like a landslide, flood, ice melting, roadblocks, the company must not have held responsible & there will be a possibility of change in the itinerary, the travelers are expected to coordinate as per the instructions.
  2. The travelers must carry Valid Indian Passport, Indian Voter ID Card or Driving License & Passport size photographs.
  3. We will take all the safety measures for any adventure sports/activities that we organize with your consent.
  4. However, if some accidents, deaths or mishap occurs, the company must not have held responsible.
  5. It will be entirely your risk and decision to involve in such adventurous activities/sports, While in Bhutan the Law of the Land Prevails.

 

Documents required to enter in Bhutan are:
For Bhutan Immigration;

  1. Voter Identity Card
  2. Passport
  3. Passport Size Color Photograph (2 Nos/Pax)

  • Phuntsholing Immigration is Closed on Sat, Sun & Government Holidays.
  • Ta Dzong – Paro (National Museum) – Closed on Government Holidays.
  • National Library – Thimphu – Closed on Sat, Sun & Government Holidays.
  • Folk Heritage Museum – Thimphu – Closed on Government Holidays and on Sat open from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm and on Sun open from 11.30 am to 3.00 pm.
  • Textile Museum – Thimphu – Closed on Government Holidays.
